Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Slopless works, what data we use, and how your activity stays private.

How It Works

How quickly do new companies appear?
New incorporations typically appear on Slopless within seconds of being registered at Companies House. We monitor multiple sources to ensure you're seeing new companies as early as possible. Slopless users are usually made aware a company has incorporated before its owner is.
What are SIC codes?
SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes are the industry codes that every UK company must register with. For example, 69201 is "Accounting and auditing activities." Slopless lets you filter the live stream by these codes so you only see companies in industries relevant to you, and get an audible alert when one appears.
What is GROUP detection?
When a new company is incorporated and one of its directors already has appointments at other companies, Slopless detects this and labels it as a GROUP. This tells you the director is experienced and already running other businesses - often a stronger lead than a first-time incorporation.
What does the Referral Finder do?
It lets you search any UK company, see its active directors, and then explore every other company each director is appointed to. If you already work with one company, you can quickly discover a director's full portfolio of businesses - each one is a warm referral opportunity because you share a connection.
How does Bulk Referral work?
Upload a spreadsheet of up to 500 company names. Overnight, Slopless looks up each company, finds its directors, and maps all their other active appointments. By 9am the next day, you can download a full export - or preview it in your browser. It's the Referral Finder at scale.
How does the Referrals Watcher work?
Pick specific directors to watch. Slopless regularly checks whether they've been appointed to any new companies. If they have, you'll see an alert in-app (and by email, if you've enabled it). Useful for staying on top of key contacts who regularly form or join new businesses.
How does the Website Watcher work?
Add newly incorporated companies to your Website Watcher from the Live Stream (using the watch button or the name copy + SN shortcut) or automatically from your Incorporation Digest. Slopless checks daily whether they have launched a website. If a website is discovered within 30 days, you'll see it on your Website Watcher page and receive an email notification if enabled. You can add up to 150 companies per week.

Data & Privacy

Where does the company data come from?
Everything displayed on Slopless is sourced from the Companies House public API and the public Companies House register. We don't scrape private databases, buy contact lists, or access anything that isn't freely available to anyone. We simply surface it faster and in a more useful format.
Can other users see what I'm searching for or watching?
No. Your Referral Finder searches are not stored at all. Your Bulk Referral jobs, Referrals Watcher entries, and alert history are all private to your account - no other user can see them. The only shared items are SIC presets and keyword sets, which are visible to other members of your organisation to help your team coordinate.
Do you store my search queries?
No. Referral Finder queries are not logged or stored. Results exist only in your browser session. When you close the tab, they're gone.
What happens to data I upload via Bulk Referral?
Your original spreadsheet is never uploaded to our server - only the company names extracted from it are sent. The processed results are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 7 days. Only you (and platform administrators for support purposes) can access your job.
Can my competitors see my activity?
No. Each user's activity is isolated. Your SIC filter selections and keyword watches are stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to the server. Your bulk jobs, watchlist entries, and referral searches are all invisible to other users. The only exception is SIC presets and keyword sets, which are shared within your own organisation to support team collaboration.
Do you share any data with third parties?
No. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. The only external services involved are Companies House (where all company data comes from) and a transactional email provider for alert delivery if you enable it. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do you use cookies or tracking?
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in - that's it. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers. Your in-app preferences (theme, filters, view settings) are stored locally in your browser and never sent to our server.

Account & Access

How do I get access?
Slopless is currently available by invitation. Get in touch to request access or ask any questions. We'll set up your account and get you started.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The platform works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, and mobile. The Live Stream and Referral Finder are both fully functional on mobile, though the experience is optimised for desktop.
Can multiple people in my team use it?
Yes. Each person gets their own account within your organisation. SIC presets and keyword sets are shared across the team so you can coordinate who watches what. Everything else - bulk jobs, watchlists, referral searches - is private to each user.
What does it cost?
Pricing is straightforward and agreed when you sign up. Get in touch and we'll find an arrangement that works for you.

Security

How is my password stored?
Your password is securely hashed and salted before it's stored. We never store your password in plain text, and we can't retrieve it - if you forget it, we reset it.
Is the connection encrypted?
Yes. All traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS) using a certificate that renews automatically. Your data is encrypted in transit at all times.
Can I be logged in on multiple devices?
Slopless enforces single-session login. If you log in on a second device, your first session is automatically ended. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorised access from a shared or compromised device.
